About Counter Trafficking Alliance
Counter Trafficking Alliance is a Christ-based, 501(c)(3) status, grassroots movement for the abolishment of modern day slavery – human trafficking.
Our organization is rooted in the call of Isaiah 1:17:
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
Isaiah 1:17 (NIV)
How It All Started
Counter Trafficking Alliance began with a simple question: what resources actually exist for victims and survivors of human trafficking? Our founding efforts started with an exhaustive research campaign across the entire anti-trafficking landscape in the United States – from national organizations and government agencies to local shelters, hotlines, and faith-based ministries.
What we discovered was troubling. The anti-trafficking space was deeply disorganized. Critical resources were scattered across countless websites, outdated directories, and disconnected networks. Worse still, we encountered widespread gatekeeping – information that should have been freely accessible was locked behind bureaucratic barriers, making it nearly impossible for those who needed help most to find it quickly.
We then spoke with the people on the real front lines: the ministry leaders, shelter operators, crisis counselors, and advocates working directly with trafficking victims every day. Their frustrations confirmed everything our research had uncovered. These dedicated servants were spending precious hours – sometimes days – searching for the right shelter bed, the right legal aid clinic, or the right counseling service for the survivors in their care. Hours that should have been spent caring for victims were instead lost to navigating a broken system.
We decided to do something about it.
The Directory That Changes Everything
Counter Trafficking Alliance built the most comprehensive anti-trafficking resource directory in the United States, a searchable database covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Our directory tracks thousands of verified organizations including emergency shelters, transitional housing, crisis hotlines, counseling services, legal aid providers, educational programs, food assistance, and faith-based support services.
Every listing is researched, verified, and organized so that a front-line worker, a survivor, or a concerned citizen can find exactly what they need in seconds – not hours. Whether someone needs an emergency shelter bed in rural Alaska or a bilingual counselor in Miami, our directory connects them to the right resource, in the right place, right now.
We also serve as a watchdog, investigating organizations in the anti-trafficking space to ensure accountability and transparency – because survivors deserve to know that the organizations claiming to help them are actually doing so with integrity.
How You Can Make a Difference
Counter Trafficking Alliance is funded entirely by the generosity of people who believe that every victim deserves a path to freedom. We have no government grants, no corporate sponsors, and no paid staff – every dollar donated goes directly toward maintaining and expanding this life-saving directory.
Your financial support helps us verify and update thousands of listings, research new organizations, expand into underserved areas, and keep this resource completely free for anyone who needs it. A survivor searching for safety at 2 AM should never hit a paywall or a dead link – and because of donors like you, they never will.
Every gift, no matter the size, directly fuels the fight against human trafficking. When you give to Counter Trafficking Alliance, you are putting a tool in the hands of the people doing the hardest work imaginable – and you are helping survivors find their way to freedom.
